Responsibilities Prepares surgical operating suite with drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment and supplies. Ensures good working order of equipment and instruments. Assists with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients. Passes instruments to physician during surgery. Continually accounts for number and location of instruments and supplies during surgery. Receives and processes specimens for delivery to the laboratory. Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. no CVOR heavy Ortho and Robotic Unit Beds/ rooms: 9 ORs Requirements Minimum Required Education: High School diploma or GED or Military trained. Required Licensure/Certification: State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration. Minimum Experience: 1 year as Certified Surgical Tech experience BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire. All life support certification cards must be issued by either the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer. (American Red Cross for the Professional Rescuer is only good upon hire and all renewals will need to be through an American Heart Association sanctioned course.) Qualifications Graduate of a formal surgical technologist program or equivalent training. Certification as a Surgical Technologist required. Hospital Surgical Tech experience preferred. Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time. Customer service abilities including effective listening skills. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
Shift times: Days and Evenings usually 8s or 12s - can be flexible.
Start can be as early as 5: 30 or 6 but days are usually more 8-5, evenings can be 1-9: 30 or as late as 4-12: 30
