Job Title: Senior Research Operations Associate - Grants
Division: Family and Community Medicine
Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Location: Hybrid within Greater Houston, TX
Salary Range : $67,704 - $78,514
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary
Oversees, manages and leads day-to-day research operations to ensure that current and long-term business goals are met. The Senior Research Operations Associate will manage a sponsored programs portfolio of approximately five large grants for the Chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine and will provide guidance to the Research Operations Associates. The Senior Research Operations Associate will serve as the liaison between the various sponsor agencies, community partners, and institutional department contacts. Will be responsible for management of the grants including but is not limited to the financial, programmatic, reporting, planning, evaluating, training, grant reporting and compliance management activities.
The ideal candidate will have experience managing and implementing programs/projects with under-served, minority populations. As well as have a track record of maintaining exceptional customer relationships with community stakeholders and providers that we work with. Must be able to effectively navigate external and internal systems and follow-up on progress.
This role is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.
Job Duties
Perform operational and project management activities related to research projects
Manage a portfolio of programs for the Department of Family and Community Medicine and center for prevention and population health in support of the various clinical, community, education and research missions of the department
Serve as a liaison and facilitates initiatives contracts and implementation with partner site executive leadership
Stay abreast of sponsor (NIH, SAMHSA, CPRIT) communications and deadlines including continuations and reporting
Utilize evaluation data in collaboration with other health disciplines to influence the revision of the patient care plan or program, service lines, and processes
Create, analyze, and monitor research project timelines
Develop implement and monitor research protocols procedures and processes including Internal Review Board (IRB), consent, and compensation forms protocols
Participate in the development of new programmatic grant submissions (pre-award)
Develop program material as needed including abstracts, publications, presentations, and marketing materials
Monitor research project expenditures; makes recommendations pertaining to work operations and priorities to meet research objectives
Monitor post-award grant expenses
Ensure the ongoing review and development of process improvements to maximize productivity
Lead efforts to produce meaningful quality and timely reports to support the research mission of the department and center
Leads the implementation and oversees the development of ongoing performance metrics
Coordinate and oversee Quality Improvement Plan development, review, revision, and implementation. Coordinate and integrate QI plans and processes for individual services
Coordinate the process of monitoring, measuring, and assessment of patient care as relates to the research proposal and support of systems to achieve high quality, safe, cost effective services
Participate in the development and coordination of data management mechanisms for reporting of program outcomes (EPIC, eCW and redcap)
Educate staff on regulation changes, and conducts orientation and regular training sessions for clinical and support staff on changes to practices and procedures
Ensure staff adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs
Performs other job-related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's in Healthcare Administration, Public Health, Business Administration or related degree.
Program/project management, grants, working with under-served, minority populations with an in-depth knowledge of the barriers that affect clinical services, fluent in a secondary language, experience with EMR's, red-cap or other data management systems.
